HOME SAFETY
Forget your worries and relax
Like all other things, the electrical system of a home can be subject to lots of wear and tear over a period and constant use. For example, smoke detectors can become inefficient after a few years and even light switches may become broken or loose over time. Power outlets may develop cracks and become loose to cause sparking. It is a good idea for you to take a home safety quiz prepared by Foster Electric to know whether your home has enough electrical safety or not.

Some tips to improve the safety of your home
There are many things you can do to make your home safe.
Take a close look at the cords of your appliances from time to time. If these cords are damaged, they run the risk of electric shock and fire. Repair or replace damaged cords as soon as possible.
Whenever keeping an appliance away, make sure you do not pull out the cord as it can become damaged. Always hold the plastic socket and pull it out from the electrical outlet.
Make sure you do not operate several appliances at the same time as it can lead to overloading and tripping of the circuit breaker.
Do not use electrical appliances in the bathroom as water can cause electrical shock or fire. Using a dryer when taking a bath in the bathtub is dangerous as a sudden slip can lead to electric shock.
Replace ordinary outlets with tamper resistant outlets to avoid any mishap because of insertion of foreign objects inside the holes of these outlets.
Make sure you do not operate several appliances at the same time as it can lead to overloading and tripping of the circuit breaker.
If you hear the sound of sparking when using an appliance, quickly remove the cord and discontinue its operation.
